dade is such a trip, he's always cracking me up! we're kinda loosely working on potty training, he's been wearing underwear a lot this past week. it will be pretty nice to have just one in diapers again!
their new favorite snack is yogurt with granola (estin says it's granilla), they'd eat it all day long. the best yogurt is wallaby organic vanilla. it's sweet enough on it's own, but they like to add honey or agave to it. sometimes i throw in a few chocolate chips too. i just get the bulk granola at the hfs.

curran has mastered crawling! now i've got 3 little munchkins wandering the house. it was pretty cute to see him pop around the corner of the kitchen today. he likes to take little breaks and just chill out and watch the big boys.

did anyone see oprah yesterday? i was really impressed with dr. christiane northrup - particularly with her response to the question about the hpv vaccine and that a good immune system starts with the gut and a healthy diet. i'm going to look for her books at the library - mom, i think you'd like her stuff if you haven't already read some of it. she even talks about the 7 chakras on her site and suggested acupuncture a few times on the show. it's always refreshing (to me anyway) to hear of more alternative approaches for healthy minds and bodies on national television, especially on oprah!

we went for a hike when brian got home and brought the camera along. estin loves going on hikes, he always wants to be the leader. dade is perfectly happy riding in the backpack still and curran, of course, loves to be "worn" as well. this carrier is a mei tai from babyhawk - handmade in the u.s., i love it! i'm also sporting the very first thing i've ever knit for myself - a new hat!

(oh, julie (and jess if you read this), yep - i joined the fuzzy north face club, LOL!)

movie time, estin really wanted to watch on the "little tv" today.

hmm, maybe it IS time for a haircut?! (he's got a mouthful of popcorn) ;)

i forgot to post curran's stats - 28" tall, 18 lbs, and he's doing the caterpillar crawl - up on his hands and knees and then flattens down on his belly - it's, surprisingly, very effective!

curran's cool eye - hmm, maybe i need a new macro lens??

i gave estin a haircut this morning, he really likes his hair short. when we came back inside dade was saying "my turn, my turn". neither of us (me or brian) are quite ready to cut off his long blonde hair, so we've been distracting him all day and trying to talk him out of it. we'll see how long we can hold out... but there might be a different looking dade in the next few days...

little curry baby is 6 months old already!! time seems to go faster and faster with each kid, it's crazy. he is such a cool little guy. it's so cute how he watches estin and dade and gets upset if they take off to play somewhere else. if you're wondering what the heck he's chewing on, it's another "must-have" baby item of mine - i think they're called fresh food feeders or something like that, you can get them at target. we don't do jarred baby food at all, instead we just put a piece of something in this thing and he chews on it - so far he's had banana, apple, pear, and chicken! going to try avocado soon too. it's pretty cool!

estin was really cute when we were talking about curran's half birthday, he said "so curran will have his birthday in the night?" he remembered that curran was born in the middle of the night!

i have a hard time capturing their beautiful dark brown eyes (exactly like brian's!) but today i think i got a couple good ones when the sun was shining in the playroom.

and a few minutes later i got this cute set...
ok, i'll admit it, i already broke a resolution. i went to kohl's to get snowboots for brian and estin and walked out of there with boots and mittens that were made in china. brian said the resolution doesn't apply to items for him, haha, and i probably could have found boots on the internet made elsewhere for estin but i kinda needed them before the snow melted! i will continue to work on this resolution, however, and i'm thinking it will save us some money because it seems like everything is made in china!

01.08.08

mmmm, toes! estin and dade never did this, i think it's so cute!

and just a little bit of proud-mama-bragging today, estin knows all of the letters in the alphabet! well, he says -u-, -v-, and -y- are "tricky sometimes" but for the most part, he's got them. i got this link to starfall on a message board i go to, taught him how to use the mouse and he just took off learning.
